Sugar-Free Garlic Shrimp with Broccoli

Tender shrimp and bright broccoli come together in a quick garlic pan sauce. The dish is simple, savoury and completely free from added sugar.

Serves: 4 people

Preparation time: 7 min

Ingredients

  • raw shrimp, peeled – 1 lb
  • broccoli florets – 5 cups
  • olive oil – 2 tbsp
  • butter – 1 tbsp
  • garlic, minced – 4 cloves
  • lemon juice – 1 tbsp
  • salt – 3/4 tsp
  • black pepper – 1/2 tsp
  • red pepper flakes – 1/4 tsp

Method

1. Steam or blanch the broccoli until just tender and keep it warm.
2. Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet.
3. Cook the garlic for 30 seconds, then add the shrimp, salt, black pepper and red pepper flakes.
4. Cook the shrimp for 2 to 3 minutes until pink and just firm.
5. Add the broccoli and lemon juice and toss everything together for 1 minute.
6. Serve hot straight from the pan.
