A creamy salmon pâté with dill and lemon is one of those effortless starters that tastes elegant despite barely needing any cooking.
Serves: 6 people

Ingredients
- Smoked salmon – 200 g
- Full-fat soft cheese – 200 g
- Dijon mustard – 1/2 tsp
- Capers – 1 tbsp, drained
- Fresh dill – 2 tbsp, chopped
- Lemon – 1 small, zest and juice
- Black pepper – to taste
- Olive oil – a few drops, optional
Method
STEP 1
Roughly chop the smoked salmon so it blends evenly but still leaves a little texture.
STEP 2
Put the salmon, soft cheese, mustard, capers, dill and half the lemon juice into a food processor and pulse until combined. Stop before it turns completely uniform if you want a more natural mouthfeel.
STEP 3
Taste and add more lemon juice or black pepper as needed. Spoon into a bowl, drizzle with a few drops of olive oil if you like and chill until serving.
