These little pizzettes are exactly the sort of party snack that disappears first from the platter. With crisp edges, melted cheese and a familiar pizza flavour in bite-size form, they are easy to bake ahead and serve warm to a room full of hungry children.
Serves: 24 people
Preparation time: 30 min
Ingredients
- Pizza dough – 1 ready-made sheet or kit
- Tomato sauce – 1 small jar
- Grated cheese – 80 g
- Mini chorizo or snack sausages – 2 sticks, sliced
- Cherry tomatoes – 3, thinly sliced
- Basil – small handful
- Olive oil – 1 tbsp
Method
step 1
Heat the oven and line a tray with baking paper. Roll out the pizza dough and cut out small rounds so every guest gets a neat hand-held bite.
step 2
Spread each round with a little tomato sauce, leaving a narrow edge free so the topping stays in place while baking.
step 3
Scatter over the cheese, then finish with slices of mini chorizo and a little cherry tomato. Add basil only lightly at this stage so it does not burn.
step 4
Bake until the dough is cooked through and the tops are bubbling and lightly coloured around the edges.
step 5
Brush the hot pizzettes with a little olive oil and add a few fresh basil leaves before serving warm or at room temperature.
