Creamy, nostalgic and endlessly spoonable, this iconic Russian celebration salad is loaded with potatoes, pickles, eggs, peas and tender meat.

Serves: 6 people

Preparation time: 25 min

Ingredients

  • Potatoes – 4
  • Carrots – 2
  • Eggs – 4
  • Cooked chicken or bologna – 250 g
  • Pickles – 4
  • Frozen peas – 150 g
  • Mayonnaise – 180 ml
  • Dijon mustard – 1 tsp
  • Dill – 1 handful
  • Black pepper – to taste

Method

Boil the potatoes, carrots and eggs, cool them and dice everything evenly.
Dice the meat and pickles and mix with peas in a bowl.
Fold through mayonnaise, mustard, dill and pepper.
Chill before serving so the flavors can settle.
