These Louisiana half-moon meat pies are savoury, peppery and perfect for snacking, lunching or serving with hot sauce on the side.

Ingredients
- Ground beef – 350 g
- Ground pork – 350 g
- Onion – 1
- Bell pepper – 1/2
- Celery – 1 stalk
- Garlic – 2 cloves
- Cajun seasoning – 2 tsp
- Pie dough – 500 g
- Oil for frying or egg for baking – as needed
Method
Cook the meats with onion, pepper, celery, garlic and seasoning until dry enough to hold. Fill pastry rounds, fold into half moons and crimp well. Fry until golden or brush with egg and bake.
