Flaky mini croissants with ham, cheese and a touch of mustard are warm, fragrant and always the first savory bites to disappear from a generous coffee table spread.

Ingredients
- Mini croissants – 12
- Cooked ham – 150 g
- Mild grated cheese – 120 g
- Dijon mustard – 2 tbsp
- Egg – 1
- Milk – 1 tbsp
- Black pepper – to taste
Method
Preheat the oven to 190°C. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Slice the mini croissants open without cutting them fully in half. Mix the mustard with a little black pepper and spread a thin layer on the inside of each croissant. Divide the ham over the bottom halves and sprinkle the cheese on top. Close the croissants and place them on the tray. Beat the egg with the milk and brush the tops lightly. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the croissants are hot through and lightly golden. Let them cool for 5 minutes before arranging them on the table.
