Silky milk chocolate and hazelnut spread turn this fondue into pure comfort, especially with apples, brioche and salty pretzels.
Serves: 6 people
Preparation time: 5 min
Ingredients
- Milk chocolate – 300 g
- Hazelnut spread – 200 g
- Double cream – 220 ml
- Salt – a pinch
- Strawberries – 250 g
- Pretzel sticks – 200 g
- Apple wedges – 3 apples
- Brioche cubes – 250 g
Method
Prepare all fruit, cake, cookies or marshmallows before you start the fondue so everything is ready to dip as soon as the sauce is smooth.
Place the main ingredients in a heatproof bowl over barely simmering water, or melt them very gently in a heavy saucepan. Add the cream in stages and whisk the hazelnut spread in only once the chocolate has mostly melted.
Stir until the mixture is completely smooth and glossy. If it looks too thick, add a small splash of cream or milk; if it is too thin, let it reduce for a minute.
A pinch of salt keeps the sweetness in check and gives the fondue a more rounded flavour. Pour the milk chocolate hazelnut fondue into a fondue pot or warm serving bowl and keep it just warm enough to stay fluid without scorching.
Serve straight away with the prepared dippers and stir from time to time so the milk chocolate hazelnut fondue stays silky.
