Ingredients

  • Butter – 250 g
  • Sugar – 250 g
  • Eggs – 6
  • Flour – 250 g
  • Cinnamon – 1 tsp
  • Cardamom – 0.5 tsp
  • Nutmeg – 0.5 tsp
  • Clove powder – 0.25 tsp
  • Salt – 1 pinch

Method

STEP 1
Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

STEP 2
Add the eggs one by one, then fold in the flour and salt.

STEP 3
Divide the batter and season half with the spices.

STEP 4
Spread a thin layer in a tin and bake under the grill or top heat, alternating plain and spiced layers.

STEP 5
Repeat until all batter is used, then cool fully before slicing.
