Indo Macaroni is a dutch-indies side dish that immediately gives a meal more character. Macaroni with minced meat, vegetables and a sweet soy touch, a nostalgic fusion dish from Dutch-Indies home kitchens. It is especially useful with rice, noodles, grilled dishes or a small rice-table style spread.

Ingredients

  • Macaroni – 300 g
  • Minced beef – 350 g
  • Onion – 1
  • Garlic cloves – 2
  • Bell pepper – 1
  • Tomato puree – 2 tbsp
  • Sweet soy sauce – 2 tbsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Salt and pepper – to taste

Method

STEP 1
Cook the macaroni until al dente.

STEP 2
Fry onion, garlic and minced meat until browned.

STEP 3
Add bell pepper, tomato puree and sweet soy sauce and cook briefly.

STEP 4
Mix in the macaroni and season to taste.

STEP 5
Serve hot, optionally with fried onions.
