These playful hotdog dogs are made for children’s parties where the food can be part of the fun. Because the toppings turn each bun into a little dog face, they bring the wow factor without asking parents to make anything technically difficult.

Serves: 5 people

Ingredients

  • Mini sausages – 10
  • Soft buns – 5
  • Mayonnaise – 100 ml
  • Greek yogurt – 50 ml
  • Mustard – 1 tbsp
  • Cheese slices – 5
  • Black olives – 5
  • Mini pickles – 3
  • Ketchup – to finish

Method

step 1
Warm the sausages and the buns. Stir together the mayonnaise, yogurt and mustard to make a mild sauce that children usually enjoy.
step 2
Fill each bun with two sausages so they sit closely together. Spread or pipe on the sauce for the dog face details.
step 3
Cut the cheese, olives and pickles into shapes for ears, eyes and noses. This is the stage where the snack turns into a party centrepiece.
step 4
Finish with a little ketchup if you like and serve while the buns are still soft and warm.
