Dutch-Indies Oven Meatloaf is a familiar Dutch-Indies meat dish with homely flavours. A savoury baked meatloaf with herbs and sweet soy, familiar, comforting and easy to slice for snacks or as part of a buffet. It works well for an everyday meal, but also as part of a larger rice-table style spread.

Ingredients
- Minced beef – 500 g
- Eggs – 2
- Breadcrumbs – 75 g
- Onion – 1
- Garlic clove – 1
- Sweet soy sauce – 2 tbsp
- Nutmeg – 1 pinch
- Salt and pepper – to taste
Method
STEP 1
Mix the minced meat with eggs, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic and seasonings.
STEP 2
Add sweet soy and knead everything together.
STEP 3
Shape into a loaf or press into a baking tin.
STEP 4
Bake until cooked through and nicely coloured.
STEP 5
Let rest briefly before slicing.
