Dutch-Indies Coconut Tart is a familiar Dutch-Indies sweet dish with homely flavours. Ingredients

  • Milk – 500 ml
  • Coconut flesh or grated coconut – 200 g
  • Sugar – 150 g
  • Eggs – 3
  • Flour – 50 g
  • Butter – 30 g
  • Vanilla – 1 tsp
  • Raisins – 50 g
  • Salt – 1 pinch

Method

STEP 1
Warm the milk with butter and vanilla.

STEP 2
Mix eggs, sugar, flour and salt until smooth.

STEP 3
Stir in the warm milk gradually, then add the coconut and raisins.

STEP 4
Pour into a baking dish and bake until just set.

STEP 5
Cool completely and chill before serving.
