A robust chilli with beef, beans, tomatoes and spice, perfect for feeding a group from one pot.

Ingredients
- red onions – 2
- garlic cloves – 2
- red chilli – 1
- red pepper – 1
- chorizo – 75 g
- sunflower oil – 2 tbsp
- beef mince – 750 g
- tomato puree – 70 g
- chopped tomatoes – 800 g
- kidney beans – 800 g
- chilli powder – 1 tsp
- ground cumin – 1 tsp
- coriander – 1 bunch
- lime – 1
- salt – to taste
- black pepper – to taste
Method
1. Fry the onions, garlic, chilli, pepper and chorizo until everything smells savoury and sweet. 2. Add the mince and cook it properly so it browns rather than steams. 3. Stir in the tomato puree, tomatoes, beans and spices and bring the pot to a steady simmer. 4. Let the chilli bubble gently until it thickens and the flavours become round and deep. 5. Finish with coriander and a squeeze of lime to freshen the richness. 6. Serve with rice, bread or baked potatoes for a practical party meal.
