Mashed potatoes with vegetables, enriched with butter and often served with sausage.

Serves: 4 people

Preparation time: 25 min

Ingredients

  • floury potatoes – 2 lb
  • carrots – 3
  • leeks – 2
  • butter – 4 tbsp
  • milk – 1/2 cup
  • nutmeg – 1 pinch
  • salt – to taste
  • black pepper – to taste
  • sausage – 4, for serving

Method

1. Peel and chunk the potatoes and vegetables.
2. Boil them together in salted water until very tender.
3. Drain well and mash with the butter, milk, nutmeg, salt and pepper.
4. Cook or fry the sausages separately.
5. Taste and adjust the seasoning of the stoemp.
6. Serve hot with the sausages.
