Buttery Antwerp biscuits with almond flakes, baked in the iconic hand shape.
Serves: 24 people

Ingredients
- butter – 1/2 cup, softened
- sugar – 1/2 cup
- egg – 1
- flour – 2 cups
- almond flour – 1/2 cup
- vanilla extract – 1 tsp
- salt – 1 pinch
- almond flakes – 1/2 cup
Method
1. Beat the butter and sugar until creamy, then mix in the egg and vanilla.
2. Add the flour, almond flour and salt and work into a smooth dough.
3. Wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
4. Roll out the dough, cut into hand shapes and place on a lined tray. Press a few almond flakes on top.
5. Bake at 180°C for 12 to 15 minutes until pale golden.
6. Cool completely before serving.
